Day 11- I'm not sure whether to feel guilty or not??

I am baffled by the scale today. Just Baffled.

Before going on my eat whatever my sister brought home binge I weighed myself as a last ditch effort to try and persuade myself not to do it. There is nothing more motivating then weighing yourself and looking at the unbiased number the scale produces which yesterday was 175.6

Although I might argue on some days that the scale doesn't know what its talking about, and that my weight should come up as "fabulous" instead of the number the mean man keeps typing on the screen

It obviously didn't work for me because, welllllll, I devoured that doughnut yesterday.
So after breakfast (One wholegrain waffle and some raspberries) I stepped on the scale and was confused. So I got off and on again, (3 times, hey I needed the confirmation lol) and it said 174.4...

Now, I'm no nutritionist but I swear weight-loss works by not eating doughnuts.... If that is not the truth then why in the world did I go on this diet? My whole life is a lie.
I googled it. No-one else has experienced this phenomenon. The world might be ending. Prepare yourselves.

Day 10- I'm TIRED

I might be using this blog post to put off working out for today -_-

Energy & Motivation:

Today I woke up and then went back to sleep.
After I finally pulled myself out of bed I went downstairs to have breakfast.
That is as far as I have gotten and it is now 10:00 AM
I have no motivation to do the video today. Maybe the no rest day is starting to catch up to me.
So as I procrastinate I am going to tell you a bit about the supplements portion of what I am doing.

Supplements: Shakeology? Other protein powders? Add a pre-workout drink?

I started to debate whether to do Shakeology with this 21 day fix or not. Last week prob around Day 4 I did some research. People were getting great results with it. So I thought Why not?
When I went to order it........  $129.99 for a 30 day supply. WHATTTTTTT???
I am not made of money. That's $4.33 a pop, $5.45 if you do the packets instead of the bag.
Since I started this diet my grocery budget went from like $60.00 a week to like $120.00 a week.
I cannot find a way to justify that much money even if it is a meal replacement.
But then I thought what if it is a miracle, in powder form, so I bought 3 packets on ebay. 1 Choco, 1 Vanilla, 1 Strawberry. That ran me about $25. So I tried it. Gross. Just gross.
So back to the internet I went...
I found another protein powder called FitMiss Delight
http://www.esupplements.com/products/fitmiss-delight
At $27.95  for a 30 day supply (2lbs) it was looking better and better. ($0.93
It is designed specifically for women.
I am not a nutritionist but I did my best to evaluate all of the ingredients. (Thanks Google!)
Then I did a side by side comparison with Shakeology and found:

FitMiss
:
0.5G more fat
35mgs more cholesterol
Shakeology:8G more sugar
10mg more sodium
But it does have more extracts and vitamins. (Do I need them if I take a multi vitamin?)

So I mean there are trade offs and benefits to both of them.

I figure with having to add things to make Shakeology taste better I will be adding to the sugar, fat, and cholesterol content per shake.

Flavor (IMO)- Fitmiss Vanilla Chai tastes 200 times better than Shakeology on its own.

Pre-workout or a thermogenic?
I have been debating on whether or not to get a pre-workout supplement. I have found Athena Intense which has a great review on www.
bestpreworkoutforwomen.com

It sells for $39.99 for a 30 day supply.
I think I need something to help me kick off working out. For example: TODAY. :) I know once i start working out i'll be energized but it's the whole starting thing that I don't want to do today. Maybe it has something to do with that subway that I ate yesterday?

I tried a Thermogenic on Day 5  (GNC Raw Refine). It kicked my intensity up 500% during the workout like I killed it! But afterwards I kept feeling light headed and I couldn't get my pulse down for like 20-30 minutes after the workout. I'm not sure if it was the Thermogenic or the fact that I worked out harder than I had since starting the fix?

I tried it again on Day 8 and I don't think it did anything for me. Like nothing no extra sweat no extra energy. I'm not to sure what to think. Does anyone reading this use a pre-workout or a thermogenic?

8 Hours later

********CHEATERALERT********

I feel like such a failure right now.... I still haven't worked out and as I type I am eating a Krispy Cream Doughnut
I swear I keep trying to tell myself to stop..... but I am just not listening to the skinny me inside my head. It is just soooo goooodddddd. It's all my sisters fault (see how I place blame.) I haven't majorly cheated at all on this diet but today has just been that day where everything I am working for seems too far away and this one doughnut wont hurt me.

Back to how this is my sisters fault lol- Now I don't think I would have eaten said doughnut if she hadn't gone to the store and bought them. To add extra temptation she ate one IN FRONT OF ME... How dare she!! (mock insult)

Thats not all-
She also bought potato puffs and chicken tenders. They were Alexia brand so not as unhealthy as normal ones but not 21 day fix approved none-the less. But they did taste magical.

I still have not worked out today ....procrastination at its finest (YAY ME)
I am going to bet I wont end up actually working out today so I am just going to decide right now that this is a rest day for me. It will be the only one I get. I will also double up for the next 3 days to make up for it. (1 for the doughnut, One for the Alexia food, and One for the workout I didn't do today)

Day 9- I didn't have to use the Dog as a weight.

Upper Body Fix

This is a quick post because I have so much to do today.
I finally got a new set of weights I got a set of 5lbs for the heavy.
My arms were burning just from the 3 lbs so I think 5 will work.

FOOD:

I did go to subway for lunch, here is what I got-
Whole wheat bread (the middle part scooped out)
Turkey
Pepperjack cheese (ONLY ONE TRIANGLE)
Toasted :)
Spinach (because you cannot have iceberg lettuce)
Green Peppers
Cucumber
Tomato
& I took home 2 packs of the red wine vinegar  (they are freebies on the fix)
No Mayo, No oil, No special sauce of any kind.

Day 8: I feel strong, does that make me Sexy?

No rest days kinda sucks

This is the first program I have done that has no actual rest days and I am not sure how to feel about it. In some ways I am hoping it will get me better results quicker. On the other hand I am worried that I am putting too much stress on my body. (there goes that google obsession of mine again)

Plyo Fix:

This workout confused my body. I don't think I have ever done so many different variations of squat jumps. I know I will be feeling this tomorrow for sure. I decided afterwards to do the Yoga Fix again because I really felt that it stretched everything I needed it to stretch and after working so hard I needed a really good stretch.

"Strong is the new Sexy"

Sorry this post is so short. I am tired.

Day 7- I'm digging this Yoga thing #CorpsePose is my fav :)

This is corpse pose :) Hahahaha

Weight Loss: 4.1 lbs
Measurements:
Lower Waist:     Lost:         0.5 in
Upper Waist:     Lost:         2.5 in
Left Arm:          Gained:    0.6 in
Right Arm:        Gained:    0.5 in
Left Thigh:        No Change
Right Thigh:      No Change

My thoughts:

As I sit here and look at the numbers I typed on the screen I am a little bit discouraged. I know losing weight doesn't happen over night. But after putting in the work this week and going as hard I possibly could every second during the videos I was hoping for more than 4.1 lbs. An I was really hoping my thunder thighs were on their was out. Does anyone else have wonky arms? Hahaha mine will continue to be different measurements for the rest of forever.
*I caught my self sucking in when I was doing the lower waist. It made it look like I lost a lot of inches. But I stopped myself because if the measurements are not accurate I am only lying to myself.
If you are doing this 21 day fix with me remember:

Yoga Fix:

I have never done a day of yoga in my life. I love it!. It really helps me notice my weak spots (balance wise.) Now it seems like this programs yoga is a bit elementary, but if your like me and are a newbie to the whole yoga thing it really does help that it is so basic.
Autumn quote of the day:

"You change your thoughts, you change your body.

Food:
I can honestly say that this food plan is no longer my enemy. I am really adjusting to it.
Today for dinner I had a turkey burger, on it I put spinach and mushrooms.
Here is one important thing to know: My two favorite foods are Dill Pickles and Olives.
I have been missing them this week So to trick myself into thinking I actually had some I chopped up some fresh dill and cucumber together put it in a bag with 2 tsp of white vinegar let it sit in the fridge for a few hours. I put some of it on my burger. Taste wise it didn't taste exactly like pickles however it smelled like pickles so it was a win in my book.
*I am trying to cut salt out of my life so I did not add any but i bet if i would have it would've made it better

Day 6- This is starting to feel less like a chore, and more like a fun activity.

I am BARELY sore!!!!

I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Dirty 30:

I am just going to jump right in and start with the workout.
Let me tell you! I feel SO fantastic. Dirty 30 worked everything and more.
After finishing I felt so jazzed I did it again. - I don't normally volunteer for extra exercise so I really surprised my self when I chose to hit play again. Then because I was so motivated, your never going to believe this, I did the cardio video too!!!! WHATTTT :). Now I did the cardio on modified the whole time but it still kept my hear pumping and made my workout last longer.
She starts off dirty 30 by saying:

"You can't WISH for it, you have to WORK for it"

BOOM! That's about as motivational as you can get.

My Schedule:

So I realized I haven't posted my workout schedule yet. I think I am doing things a little bit different than what the normal schedule is but I think in this order I get a better workout in.

Water:

I want to talk about water for a quick minute.
Before starting the 21 day fix I drank maybe 2 glasses of water a day.
I would drink V8 Splash (Hey- The label said it was healthy) and Soda, basically if it had a lot of sugar and ingredients I couldn't pronounce I would drink it.
Since starting the 21 day fix I am going through at least a gallon a day, most of the time more.
I carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I go.
The first 2 days of the fix I had KILLER headaches from caffeine withdrawal it SUCKED but I didn't give in.
I have not had anything but water in the last 6 days. Other than those first two days, I have not felt like I needed it and that feels so fantastic.

Day 5- It hurts to breath, sit, stand, or pick anything up.

It hurts to breath, sit, stand, or pick anything up.

I'm pretty sure I'm Dying

Morning:

Let me tell you. I haven't felt this sore all over in YEARS. I had to half scoot-half fall down the steps because my neither my legs nor my arms seemed to be working. Despite the soreness all over I feel good.
Here's why- I am actually putting the work in, and the way I hurt all over is proof. I haven't looked at the scale. I haven't taken measurements. I can feel that I am working my body to its limit and I think for today that is bringing me more satisfaction than a scale or measuring tape could.

Food:

Today has been the best food day by far! I might be delirious but I think since starting the 21 day fix I have inadvertently done a palate cleanse. Is that a thing? I think that's a thing.
Everything I have eaten today I tasted.
I mean when I put something in my mouth I tasted flavors in the food that I never noticed before because I was masking it with butter or salt.
For example: I baked a chicken breast with no seasoning on it. When I bit into I noticed that chicken is actually pretty salty! WEIRD (then I googled why chicken is salty and that led to me learning a lot of stuff I didn't want to know about the chicken I just ate that I thought was healthy)

Note to self: Stop googling everything you think of.

On a side note: The government is not going to make everyone get a Microchip by 2017. I looked it up to make sure.

Back to food...
I bought (frozen) black eyed peas at the store because I couldn't remember if I liked them or not. So I made this recipe and it was actually FANTASTIC!

http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/recipes/creolestyle-
blackeyed-peas/rcp-20049644
What I changed:
Instead of water and bouillon I just used 1c low fat low sodium chicken stock. ( I didn't need as much liquid since my  peas were frozen not completely dehydrated)
I used 1 medium fresh tomato instead of canned. and crushed it myself
I used 1/2 Small onion
I used fresh ginger about 1tsp
I didn't have any fresh parsley.

I followed the directions on the back of the bag of frozen peas to cook them using 1/2c of the chicken stock and the rest water.

I only let it simmer until the onions and tomatoes were stewed. About 30-35 mins. (only because the peas were frozen not dehydrated)

Cardio Fix:
Kicked my butt.  If I were keeping score... which i'm not it would be Cardio Fix:1 Lindsay:0
Cat was basically my BFF about 3/4 of the way through. I feel like her and I have the same body type and I give her major props because she was killin it. I mean I was dead. I even paused the video for a quick minute because I could not catch my breath.
Quote of the video:

"You gotta do the work you don't lose 35 pounds by sitting on the couch"
